Point of emergency call to 119

In the time of disasters, you had better to use gray or green public telephones.

When disaster occurs, since phone lines are used ten times as many as usual they become busy easily, so it gets through hardly.

But gray or green (exclude red and pink) ones connect easier than other phones. So you had better to use them as many as you can.

Yet in the time of a blackout, since telephone card reader and 100 yen coin discriminating machines won’t work, you should try to use 10 yen coin as many times as possible in order to avoid some problems.

Further, how to call 119 is different with every kind of phone. Be careful.

HOW TO CALL

Telephone in your house

Pick up phone’s receiver and call 119 directly.

Green public telephones

First pick up phone’s receiver, push red emergency "call" button, and call 119.

Gray public telephones

First pick up phone’s receiver, and call 119.

Red or pink public telephones

At first ask a shop assistant who has the red or pink phone to change establishment, call 119.
(If you without making phone’s establishment change, you can’t talk with a fire officer mutually.)

Cell phone

If you call 119 on your cell phone, tell that you are calling on cell phone certainly.
After, tell detail of reporting and number of your cell phone, and leave phone’s power on.
Tell if you need ambulance or fire engine, where it is, what you can see around where you are (conspicuous thing), how the injured or fire is, as detail of reporting.
Condition of cell phone’s connection depends on the radio, so it is interrupted easily. So use public telephones if there is it around of you.
