Roentgen／CT／Brain cancer／Band-aid

We sometimes have an X-ray in the hospital when our bones are scanned. X-ray used on roentgen is one kind of radiation.

How to use?

X-ray is one type of radiation so it has penetrating power and it can go through our body. This radiation expose films black which is behind us, but bones absorb X-ray so this part don’t expose and come out whitely. We can take picture of bones by using this.

When we check complicated disease, we undergo the examination after we have a medicine “a contrast medium” which absorbs the X-ray.

CT (Computed Tomography), which scans cross-section surface of body, uses X-ray: radiation similar to roentgen.

How to use?

First, shed X-ray to a body from different direction and check the amount which is absorbed by the body. Second, evaluate the amount of X-ray of each part of body by calculating. Finally, make the cross-section image of body based on this value.

In fact, this work is done in tens of seconds by a irradiator’s and a detector’s rolling.

It is said that operations of brain’s diseases are difficult so the treatment which uses the capability that can go through in radiogenic material things, and this ability is called Gamma knife.

How to use?

Radiation (Gamma radiation) forms like a beam is blasted off from about 200 bores which are bedded in the helmet and it is gathered in the middle of helmet. Each radiation’s dose is small so skins and healthy brain cells which are went through radiation are damaged very few. But, in the middle, radiation converge and make big energy so it can break a nidus.

Medical and health sundries, band-aids and masks, cotton swabs, which we use on a routine basis, are disinfected by radiation.

How to use?

When radiation (Gamma radiation) expose to molds which adhere to medical and health sundries, it injure the cells’ DNA in the same way when expose to mans’ cells. Then cells lose its function and we can disinfect.

Using is not only this, radiation use to medical apparatuses, for example, surgeon’s knife. Thanks to this way, we can disinfect easily and clearly than old way which sterilizing by calefaction and chemical.
