The of Detail of Yamanaka Factors Section

In the department,you will look about the Yamanaka factor which you studied the last department.

In the last department,you learned that the Yamanaka factors was 4 kinds of proteins which needs in order to initialize cells in the last department,didn't you?

Actually,each name of the Yamanaka factors is known.

Then,we will explain names and simply functions of the Yamanaka factors!


①Oct3/4
It is one of the proteins called transcription factors which adjust function of other genes.

If there is no this gene,we cannot keep the state of ES cells.

②Sox2

This is also one of the transcription factors.And alike Oct3/4,if there is no this gene,we cannot keep ES cells.


③Klf4

This is one of the transcription factors,but this isn't known detailed its function.


④c-Myc

This is one of the transcription factors.And it is known as one of the "Cancer genes" which cause cancer.

Though the efficiency of initialize fail,it was found later to be able to initialize if there is no this gene.
