Fujikyu Railway - Route data

Fujikyu Railway is a line connecting Otsuki Station in Otsuki City in Yamanashi Prefecture to Fujisan Station in Fujiyoshida City and Fujisan Station to Kawaguchiko Station in Tsuru-gun.

Ride report

I rode the train from Otsuki station to Fujisan Station. The vehicle was a 205 series train that was active in JR East Yamanote Line and Keiyo Line, renewal by Mr. Eiji Mitooka famous for handling train "Seven Stars" and so on. It was decorated as wood. The route was a route with many ups and downs where the cityscape and road occasionally showed their face while pounding through the mountains. Many famous sightseeing spots such as Kawaguchiko, Fujikyu Highland and Mt. Mode of opreration

In weekdays, there were 5 trains per hour during the morning and evening hours, 3 to 4 trains per hour, 2 trains per hour in the off time zone, 2 to 3 trains per hour for the holiday, 6 to 7 trains per hour for the tourism peak time (excluding charge limited express trains). It can be said that this is a very large number of operations for regional railroads. In particular, it is worth noting that trains run in number comparable to those in the metropolitan area during rush hour and holiday tour peak hours on weekdays morning and evening. Although it is thought that the number of such trains is considered considering the transportation of tourists, the environment that makes it easy for local users to use railways as a result is established. Therefore, it seems that byproducts of improving the convenience of local users also exist in "tourism" measures.

Vehicle

In the ordinary train, the 6000 series that transferred the JNR Series 205 (Yamanote, Sobu, Keiyo, Hanwa, Senseki Line, which were used in various parts of the country), transferred the 5000 series (active in Keio Line) of Keio Imperial Railway 1000 · 1200 series, and our own ordered 5000 series are used. Management of amusement parks

We have our own amusement park "Fujikyu Highland" along the railroad and have "Fujikyu Highland Station" as the nearest station on the Fujikyu Line. I thought that Fujikyu Railway is a railway depends on sightseeing because the company succeeded by sightseeing vehicles, diretcly access to metrapolis, management of amusement park.
Moreover, trains run at intervals of 2 to 5 trains by 1 hour by tourism, and it is highly convenient for residents who use the railway, and as a byproduct of tourism, improvement of convenience of local transportation happened.
