Jindajiru
Soybean which contains much protein of good quality was a precious source of nutrition at the time when people didn’t eat meat of animals, or in mountain area where there was less fish.
And “Jindajiru” containing the soybeans has been taken over by people.

Japanese-style soup



Syoukemeshi
Only deep-fried bean curds and dried small sardines are actually put in Shoukemeshi.
This food was used not only for increasing the amount but also for annual events, religion rites and food for workers.
And this was one of the treat which provided pleasure to people in the usual monotonous food life.
