■Characteristics
UNICEF provided relief when Korean War ended in 1953, which was to be giving of the full-scale school lunch. Basic menus are almost the same as that in Japan. However, we can typically see kimchee, their traditional pickle, in every single dish in Korea. It also makes another difference from Japan that a school lunch in Korea includes overwhelmingly much rice dishes. Of course, we can find spaghetti or hash and rice. And for the students from the first to the third grades are supposed to drink some milk after the second period. The school lunch is provided after the fourth period.
