There is history in milk! Let’s look at change of milk!!
Skim milk → In 1949 (the 24th year of the Syowa Period) ~
In 1949, UNICEF gave milk and milk became standard and legendary menu. It was carried by a big bucket to the classroom and poured into an aluminum cup by a ladle.

Consigned milk → In 1964 (the 39th year of the Showa Period) ~
For two years since 1964, the consigned milk was absorbed when the skim milk changed into the consigned milk.
Bottle milk (180ml→200ml) → In 1966 (the 41st year of the Showa Period) ~
The bottle milk was absorbed around 1966 and the skim milk changed into the milk (raw milk 100%) around 1970 (the 45th year of the Showa Period). To open the cap needed the knack and to carry was hard.

Tetra antique (200ml) → In 1964 (the 39th year of the Showa Period)~
This was used in Tokyo Olympic Games and rapidly spread after 1970s. But it was difficult to build up, so gradually change into square type.
Brick pack, Gable top (200ml) → In 1980 (the 55th year of the Showa Period)
This began to spread in general public and continue to use now. The characteristic is light, superior to keep in trust and easy to carry. The gable top continues to use. Milk is natural now, but skim milk was natural a long time ago! Return to beginning Return to the history of the school lunch
