Yukio Hatoyama (Sep 16, 2009-Jun 8, 2010, 266 days, Democratic Party)

A grandson of Ichiro Hatoyama. He was the first prime minister after the historic regime change by overwhelming victory by DPJ. His manifesto was to create “child allowance,” reducing tax waste, reforms in education, medication, self-governance, and reviving economy. Hatoyama couldn’t get a trust from voters in Okinawa for not being able to solve the problem of the Futenma base. He resigned in 9 months for being criticized for “relationship of politics and money” of President Ozawa and of himself.
Naoto Kan (Jun 8, 2010-Sep 2, 2010, 452 days, Democratic Party)

Became a prime minister by defeating Ichiro Ozawa in the president election within the DPJ. The cabinet, at first, had a support from more than 60% of voters for revising manifesto and for “de-Ozawa.” His irresponsible remark about raising the consumption tax to 10% caused a humiliating loss in the election of the House of Councils. His support rate fell as minister Matsumoto resigned in only 9 day, and vagueness of time to resign.
Yoshihiko Noda (Sep 2, 2010-, Democratic Party)

The current prime minister. His cabinet is known as “loach cabinet” from his unique inaugural speech.
