Preface

岸和田高校写真    Our school, Osaka Prefectural Kishiwada High School is endowed with a long history; in 2014, it celebrates its 117th year. It was established in the Meiji Era and it has a lot of academic valuable artifacts such as the first edition of "the Anatomy," a specimen of a Japanese sea lion (only around ten specimens have been preserved all around the world), as well as experimental instruments used for physics.
We have some other precious treasures such as Ochiai archives, which are a collection of books donated by a former principal, a lot of specimens, and some historic artifacts brought by people living around our school.
All of these valuables are called "the Kishiko Collection" ("Kishiko" stands for Kishiwada High School, a friendly way to call it). They are very valuable in many respects such as in their historic, scientific and educational contexts.
Two years ago, during a computer seminar lesson, we started making the digital archives for "the Kishiko Collection". So far, we have made archives "the Anatomy" and "Recommendation of Study" into a digital source.
As the part of this activity,we made Kishiwada high school Artifacts Database. This year, we have started our try to make our archives public to the world. Making this web page is to be the first step for that.
