[Column] Paris Agreement

The Paris Agreement was adopted at COP 21 held in Paris in 2015 and Japan was approved by the National Assembly in November 2016. This Paris Agreement is a fair agreement that rules and targets on emissions of greenhouse gases, etc., are set and all the first countries in history participate. Many Japanese proposals are included.

The Kyoto Protocol came to have various problems, such as the United States' withdrawal, and that a new framework is needed for all countries to participate. Therefore, we adopted the "Paris Agreement" where all countries work on reducing this time.

2017/06/02 Additional notes
President Cardo Trump expressed his intention to withdraw from the Paris Agreement. We are announcing statements that countries regret. However, it is stipulated that it will be after November 4, 2020 that it is actually possible to withdraw. Because there is time to do so, it is said that each country "persuades" the United States.
