Elevators

Numbers of elevators are increasing in places where there are many people in public facilities such stations, buildings that have high classes and also is installed in some homes recently. It is a very convenient way move to the floor to floor. However, because the elevator is like a small box, people holding big baggage such as a stroller or the carry case or people who use wheelchairs, is feeling difficulty to do a turn and exit the elevator forwards. By installing a mirror in the elevator, made them to see the back, or made an exit on the opposite side from the entrance, which means that they can enter and exit forwards.

We watched the elevator of our school

Our school has two elevators, one is in an old school building, and other is in a new school building. We watched the laborer in the elevator of the school.

Elevator of the new school building


It is the appearance of an elevator installed in the new school building.	It is a mirror installed in the elevator.	It is a button out of the elevator.


It is a handrail and a button in the elevator	It is a monitor in the elevator, it also has audio guide.

The button of the elevator is easy to push, and supports the height of wheelchairs.

Elevator of the old school building


It is the appearance of an elevator installed in the existing school building.	It is a mirror installed in the elevator.	It is a button out of the elevator. There is not the photograph, but button for wheelchairs is equipped with.

It is the handrail in the elevator.

You may realize from upper photographs and explanations, facilities of the elevators are not much difference between the old one and the new one.
That’s why elevators relatively support UD from an early stage, but after doing elderlies experience and wheelchairs experience, the new one were used full of pictograms and has audio guide. It was improved a little to be easy to use it.

Our Thoughts

If it is the station is not small, we can find lots of universal designed elevators. When I carry a big baggage in my trip, I was able to move without inconvenience by using elevators having doors in both front and back. In addition, in buildings like hospitals which a lot of wheelchair users visits, I thought that mirrors ware provided in many cases. Because it becomes convenient to just attach one mirror, I felt it this action should spread out in the world more.
