Reactions of type III
The main reaction of type III is Rheumatism
Rheumatism
Ordinary, rheumatism is rheumatoid arthritis. This is one of reactions of autoimmune disorder which is an allergy reaction for part of own body. People between 30 and 50 years old and women are more likely to develop.
Allergen
The allergen is cells near own joint. Immunity system mistakes them for enemies.
Symptoms
- Fever
- Loss of appetite
- Swollen joints, pain in the limbs
- (If the disease progresses) joint deformity, mucosal inflammation, lung injury, heart failure, liver failure
Mechanism
A person who has many substance called TNF-α tend to develop the rheumatism reaction. If the amount of TNF-α is large, inflammatory cytokine and neutral proteinase, which destroys cartilage to be made will increase. And then inflammation occurs in synovial cells, and osteoclasts that destroy bones also increase. When the osteoclasts increase and brisk up, bones will decrease because the amount of destruction of bones exceed the amount of generation of bones.
Measures
It is almost impossible to remove the cause of allergy, but the rheumatism can be abated by steroid of immunosuppressive agent or methotrexate of anti rheumatic medicine etc. Methotrexate is a medicine that has a function to stop cells from increasing.
This also can stop cells involved in immunity such as osteoclasts, so rheumatism reaction would be restricted.
Smoking tends to cause rheumatism more easily. Also, the remission rate is lower than nonsmokers.
You can deal with it by warming up and chilling the affected area. And it is known the reasons for making it easy to make CCP antibody which is increased due to severe rheumatoid arthritis is a periodontal disease bacterium. So, it may be effective to brush teeth properly.
