『After the second preservation project, it was decided to survey　the Dome every three years for soundness. Engineers will examine　the structure for cracks, exfoliation, and corrosion, take measurements to evaluate settling and perpendicularity, and in　other ways ascertain its condition. In 1996, photography and computer technology were utilized for　photo measurements making possible more detailed survey 　drewings of the Dome.』
