Urban Concept
Zero-Carbon City (zero-energy city): an environmentally conscious city is built near Abu Dhabi. We plan to have a population of approximately 5000 by 2022 and meet certain environmental performance standards.
Abu Dhabi, one of the world's leading crude oil producers, is using renewable energy such as solar energy without using fossil fuels such as oil and natural gas. For example, in a desert about 120 kilometers east and west, there are solar panels that gather together and use their energy to power a city. They are also developing battery systems in cooperation with various companies. There is also a device that sends air into the "wind tower" to cool the MIST (courtyard). Also, because the use of gasoline is prohibited, you can only use electric cars and unmanned trains "personal rapid transit" that are strewn around the city. In order to encourage citizens to take an active part in energy conservation activities, the color of LED lamps changes when energy conservation goals are achieved, resulting in the so-called "visualization".
Facilities
In 2017, a government-affiliated company promoting the development of smart houses "Masdar" announced the "Eco-Villa". The "Eco-Villa" takes into account the desert climate of Masdar City in the Middle East, and has reduced energy consumption by about 72% and water consumption by about 35% compared to ordinary houses. There are also efforts to create places where residents can communicate with each other. Other efforts include wall art made from recycled musical instruments and films made by peddling bicycles and generating electricity.
History
A futuristic experimental city that aims to achieve 0 carbon dioxide emissions under the Smart City Plan for Sustainable Living since 2006. It is said that it cost about 22 billion dollars. It is being implemented, but it is far behind schedule.
Relations with Japanese companies
According to a survey by the Japan External Trade Organization, the number of business establishments of Japanese companies in Abu Dhabi is increasing year by year. We have a business targeting Japanese.
