Urban Concept

With particular emphasis on "smart citizen" and "smart medical care" the evolution of ICT has led to the development, digitization and networking of transport, government, healthcare and energy infrastructure throughout Africa. "smart citizen" refers to human resources who will play an active role in the coming IT era. To foster such human resources, we are working to promote ICT literacy and promote Wi-Fi access for the general public. To provide young people with access to technology, there is a program called "Jozi Education Digital Interns" which provides special education for talented young people. A "smart medical care" gives medical staff instant access to patient data, and 118 public hospitals have implemented its centralized electronic patient record system.

The company currently has 23 full-time employees and is working closely with the government of Gauteng, Johannesburg and some of the nation's largest research centers. There are currently 24 startups in the building, 10 of which are in the IT/telecom sector. Five companies are supported by Oxfam's EDP."

History

After the abolition of apartheid, many African colored people (colored race) migrated to the Afrikaner settlement. However, many colored people were unable to find work, leading to a high incidence of crime by some unemployed people and extremely poor security in the city. However, whites and those who were successful with the times moved to the Santong area, about 10 kilometers from the most dangerous downtown area. It is the center of the economy and continues to develop as a smart city.

Relations with Japanese Companies

Dalin Folin and Kendal Magamate say, "Japanese companies could work with South African startups, especially in transferring expertise and technology and in providing solutions for South African companies in Japan.".
