New York City

Urban Concept

In New York City, CTO Miguel Gamino leads initiatives for smart cities. Looking at smart cities from the perspective of how to provide services to citizens, they believe that integrating the elements of each smart city to improve the user experience in citizens' lives will be an issue in the future. For that purpose, data exchange and improvement of interoperability are important. We see service integration as a challenge going forward.
They have also started a project called LinkNYC to change public phones to Link, a Wi-Fi spot in the city. Urban Link not only offers free Wi-Fi, but also allows users to access nearby information and charge their phones through a large screen. In the residential area, it is expected to be installed without a screen.
On April 22, 2019, Mayor de Blasio of New York City announced the NYC Green New Deal, a plan to combat global warming. The plan calls for a nearly 30% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, with $140 billion in investment and city legislation.
