The classification of plants

The kinds of plants
We call the plants which make seeds and make offspring, seed plants.
A plant such as the one to the left is called an angiosperm. An angiosperm is a plant that has an ovule wrapped in an ovary.
Plants that have an ovule is not wrapped in an ovary such as the pine that are called Gymnospermae.
The kinds of angiosperm
As for the angiosperm, there are two types of cotyledons, and cotyledons with only one part are called single cotyledons like the one shown to the left.
The second type of cotyledon has two parts and is called Dicotyledones.
The characteristics of single cotyledons
The leaf veins go straight and are parallel to each other they is called parallel veins.
The roots of single cotyledons open like a mustache. This is called a fibrous root.
The vascular stand of single cotyledons is made up of scattered trachea and sieve tulos that bring water and nourishment to the whole plant.
The characteristics of Dicotyledones
The leaves veins open like a net from the center which is called netted venation.
There is abig root at bottom of Dicotyledones, and thin roots can grow fromit it. These are called an axial root and a lateral root.
The vascular strand of Dicotyledones is made up of a ring of trachea and sieve tubes.
The characteristic of the flower of Dicotyledones
The petals of Dicotyledones are close together. These are called gamopetalous flowers.
If the petals are separated, they are called schizopetalous flowers.
