Absorption

"The retina, which is a sensory organ, feels light." This is related to the wavelength of light, and absorption. Specific wavelengths are absorbed when light hits the material.

For example, the color of an apple. Only the red wavelengths are absorbed and other wavelengths are reflected. So, it looks red.
