We visited to Japan Meteorological Agency for social studies at end of July, 2010.

We learned the process of the weather forecast and weather advisory and warning, how to make the weather chart, and protection against the Tsunami, volcano and earthquake there.

Surprisingly, they recorded the detailed observation and observed the Tsunami, volcano and earthquake in not only Japan but world.

We understood that the Government prepares the crisis management system to be ready for the “Tokai earthquake”. If they will observe the unusual data, the news will be given to the Prime Minister and the Government will issue the warning when the data shows danger.

We felt scary to the “Tokai earthquake” in which a big damage is forecasted.

We also experienced the “Earthquake Early Warning”, which was recently in the news.

When the earthquake recorder detects the P-waves and the warning is displayed at your place, a choice between two things about the action you should do is questioned.
Of course, your action and situation are different by where you are, because the distance from the epicenter is different.

We felt that such hand-on learning was easy to understand the “Earthquake Early Warning” than explanation by letters.

We spent a full time at Japan Meteorological Agency by getting the information about the disaster prevention.
