Hands-on learning of earthquake
In the HANDS-ON LEARNING OF EARTHQUAKE, we experienced two tremors with an intensity of 5 and 7 on the Japanese seven‐stage seismic scale with the equipment which reproducts the same situation of The Great Hanshin earthquake in 1995.
It being hands-on learning, furniture in the hands-on learning loom was settled more solidly than usual. And window glasses are also exclusive and unbreakable ones in the room, to prevent their breaking. So, we could experience only waves of artificial earthquake.

After finishing the hands-on learning
I realized that I can’t stand in the strong earthquake, for the first time.
Although I’ve often heard some people scream in some hand-on learning of earthquake as we did this time,I’ve never realized standing in the tremor.
But this time, experiencing in practice, I was in great trouble even putting on a cushion.
I’ve practiced prevention way such as putting on a thing, many times. But I’ve never found it VERY difficult if I am in the tremor for fifteen years, all my life.
Reconsidering, it was very awkward, I think.
It was good for me that I could experience how scary it is before the real one occurs.
I’ve been to there (Western Chiba Prefecture Disaster Prevention Center).
But I took the hands-on learning of earthquake for the first time.
Even with an intensity of 5, I felt difficult walking, with an intensity of 7, it is no longer easy to go on standing.
In the hands-on learning loom, there is no falling object, no fire, and no crack on the floor at all.
But if these things become reality, can I take action calmly? The power of the tremor is strong enough tomake me wonder about such question.
