Mirage
Light is refracted according to differences of temperature or density in the air. At that time, there is a phenomenon where a virtual image of the material looks to be floating or upside down or onits side. This is called a Mirage. Normally, light goes straight ahead. However, light has a specoal characteristics. It is to go towards cold and dense air when there is a difference in the density of air. Therefore, such a phenomenon happens. There are three kinds of mirages. They are, top mirage, inferior mirage, and mirror(lateral) mirage. You can see a top mirage when warm air is above and cold air is below. This causes real images to appear on virtual images. A Mirage of ice is a top mirage. You can see an inferior mirage when cold air is higher and warm air is lower. This causes virtual images to appear on real images. Road mirages and the phenomenon of floating islands are inferior mirages. You can see a mirror mirage when the temperature differences appear in the horizontal direction. However,it's an unusual phenomenon,so we see few of them. Mirror mirages look like a virtual image a long-side a real image.
