There are three kinds raw materials of the Japanese paper mainly, and, to bills, the unsized silk paper takes the oil, and, in Broussonetia kazinoki , the mitsumata is used for paper or carbon paper to shoji paper. Here, I explain a Japanese paper using Broussonetia kazinoki . |

A bark is stripped off from a kazi tree and it is made the white skin. Mino Washi used "Tosakazi","Nasukazi"and the kazi which can be taken locally. |
The materials skinned from the tree of the rudder are dipped in water. The impurities "it opens" which melt into water easily are removed by that cause, and materials become soft.It was called "Kawasarashi" and was dipped in water for 2 or 3 days. But,the way of being carried out in the tank in a workplace these days increased. |

Since the method where the situation stands cannot be built in order to take out only the fiber of a rudder, it is boiled by Ogama which contains sodium carbonate for about 2 hours. |
It is the kazi which became beautiful by boiling. But,since garbage remains, it removes that it is manual labor carefully. This is the most serious and is important work. Well water is used at this time. |

The materials which finished taking dust finely are opened on the board of Kamiuchiishi, and it strikes and loosens by two Tatakizuchis. It is made to rotate on the way and combs. Now, it is performed by the "beater." |
After long work to here, I begin work of the papermaking. You may be able to enter and can mix the liquid which I extracted from the root of the hibiscus called "‚˂ׂµ" with raw materials in water made in "Sukibune". And I scoop a liquid in "Sukibune" and, with a tool called ”Suketa", shake. I make it, and there are "sink creation of dried laver" and "collection creation of dried laver" in. |
I pressure paper and squeeze water. For one day, I take time and gradually strongly squeeze it. |
I stick the paper which I tore off by one piece on a board with a characteristic brush and dry it with the sun. I stick it on a metal dryer circulating hot water of 60 degrees inside and may dry it now. |
The paper completed after long long work inspects it for one piece of one piece of hand. I hold it up against light and I consider the thickness of the paper and, except damage, a wound, the thing with the impurities such as dusts and an uneven thing, sort it with the eyes of the person carefully. |
I cut the paper which I sorted to size in accord with a use with a characteristic kitchen knife. The Mino Japanese papers form a line in the completion, the shop and reach our hand in this way.
