Crape myrtle

・Crape myrtle

The tree is from the southern part of China representing summer, leaves fall in winter. It has flowers on the branch from the summer to the autumn. The color of flowers are white, pink, rouge, crimson and violet. The petals are six pieces.
After a flower bloomed, it produces a sphere and elliptic fruit, and it split open when it become ripe, and a seed is scattered. A seed has the wing like the thin feather.
From the place hanging it partially where the bark came off, " monkey slips and falls → monkey sliding" is the origin of the name. It has the kanji called "hundred days crimson", but this is because a flowering period is long.
