PEACE PROJECT members & coaches

Takeshi

I'd like to thank you for visiting our pages.

I graduated from Osaka Gakuin Daigaku Senior High School this past February and I'm going to study Education,Law and Psychology but mainly Foreign Languages at Osaka Gakuin University.
I'm very happy to join this educational contest because I hope to be a teacher in the future. Also I'm very happy to have met teammates and collaborate with them.

The theme "PEACE" that we've chosen is difficult for all of us to answer. But now we have a tool,"the INTERNET" to contact people throughout the world. It's making the world smaller and smaller. So we're going to try to communicate with all the people about "PEACE" through our webpages. I want to talk with them as much as I can.

Yumi

My name is Yumi Nagato. I graduated from Jonan High. I'm going to attend Osaka Gakuin University same as Takeshi and Shinya are going to.

By the way,how do you think of the world including Japan? You know that there are many problems like the destruction of the natural forest, dioxin poisoning from burning gabage, global warming, depletion of the Ozon layer and so on. I'm sure that you've heard about that. Also I've heard that for so many times. But I haven't done anything for them although I knew how terrible they were. I'm just feeling sorry. Yes, I'm feeling so sorry about that.
But now I've met ThinkQuest@Japan that gave me a chance to show what I researched to all the people in the world on the Internet. This is a good opportunity to do what I wanted to do.

Fortunately, I have met other members who also care for Peace of the world like me. We thought, talked and researched altogether about Peace.

So, I want everyone who doesn't know what to do for Peace to visit our webpages and leave us messages. Thank you.

Shinya

This coming Spring,I'm going to attend Osaka Gakuin University. My name is Shinya Hata.

The reason I joined this team was by a recommendation of my friend, Takeshi. At first, I was not so earnest. But it's getting interesting as I collaborated with other members and now I want to tell everybody how important Peace is.
I'll be happy if you come to think of Peace by visiting our webpages.
That's all !!
Thank you!!

Peace & Love, Shinya Hata.

Koji Nakajima - Coach

I'm working at the Media Section of the General Affair's Office at Osaka Gakuin University.
The first time I found out about ThinkQuest was when we had a "MELOP Workshop" at our University in July.2000.
I'm happy
to participate with a team for ThinkQuest@Japan. because I had many opportunities to communicate and collaborate in doing a project with teammates who live in different places like Osaka, Kyoto, Hyogo and Honolulu.
I want all the people to come and visit our webpages. And if time permits, please give us your reactions,

Thank You.

Lena Kanemori - Coach

Aloha, I'm so honored to be a ThinkQuest@Japan coach. When I introduced the ThinkQuest Japan program at the 2000 Melop workshop at OGU, I was so thrilled that I had created an interest in a group of enthusiastic high school students, Takeshi, Yumi and Hata. I'm presently the technology coordinator at Enchanted Lake Elementary School on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. I also assist the Department of Education in instructing other educators in the integration of technology into the classroom. I've coached two winning ThinkQuest Jr. teams in the United States, and I've also coordinated two collaborative projects with Japan, the Marsville and NOx projects. I enjoy collaborating globally as it creates an awareness of one's unique culture and promotes PEACE and harmony among countries. I would be very happy if you could share with us how you can make a difference in promoting peace. Mahalo!

Larry Higashi - Coach

Aloha, I am a visiting lecturer at Osaka Gakuin University. After a career spanning more than 30 years as a teacher and administrator with the Hawaii State Department of Education, I've accepted a teaching position at O.G.U. I taught various subjects in junior high, senior high, and adult education schools before becoming an administrator. As an administrator, I worked in business services, curriculum and special programs, and in personnel services. The ThinkQuest Program will be a new experience for me, but my forte has always been working with people. I look forward to a positive relationship with my colleagues and a group of bright, energetic students. The topic is difficult but very important, and I am confident that the students will be up to the challenge.
