Ozone layer depletion

A cause and the present condition
On the atmosphere of the earth, a layer which is called an ozone layer and which protects a detrimental ultraviolet ray from the earth is. Phenomenon of opening hole called ozone hole to ozone layer by ozone being destroyed with the chlorofluocarbon. This is ozone layer depletion.
The South Pole sky is present the severest, and if it sees with a satellite photograph, the hole can be seen clearly.

The structure of ozone layer depletion is as follows.

The mechanism of destroying ozone layer (1)
A chlorine atom separates from chlorofluocarbon by the ultraviolet ray.
(2)
A chlorine atom and ozone react and ozone is destroyed (divided into oxygen and chlorine oxide).
(3)
Chlorine oxide and an oxygen atom react and it becomes oxygen and a chlorine atom.

Among these, a chlorine atom reacts with ozone again and destruction of ozone is repeated.


Ploblem
People's body is influenced greatly: skin cancer and so on. In Australia, measures, such as making sunglasses covered at the time of going out of a child, etc. are taken.

Measure
Use of chlorofluocarbon was forbidden all over the world from 1996 downward.
