Can't keep up on class

The class progresses in the premise that all the kids knows the learning content so they have no idea what they are learning and what they had learned

I couldn't understand anything in class so I fell asleep without realizing. The I started to lose motivation and not understand so it was a bad cycle.

TodayWhat is the current situation today?

SolutionWhat kind of solutions do we have?

Provide support tailored to individual needs as soon as possible

Each individual has different things to do, such as studying Japanese, homework, and studying subjects, so it is necessary to provide support tailored to each individual's needs. Also, from the student's point of view, tutoring allows students to study their own learning content without feeling embarrassed, which increases their motivation for learning. However, the current situation is that there are still few environments in which such generous support can be provided. It is also important to make decisions at an early stage after arriving in Japan if the appropriate learning support can be provided. Teachers in places where there are few international kids don't know how to deal with them. Many teachers deal with problems alone. Schools and NPOs should share more information and provide support tailored to the circumstances of each child.

Motivate an enthusiasm for learning with multilingual textbooks

The reason why intekids can't keep up with learning is because they don't understand Japanese enough. So, using a textbook written in their native language or written in Japanese that is easy to understand, kids could get out of the situation where they don't know what the teacher is saying in class. When the kids can understand the contents, they will naturally increase your motivation to learn. There are already some textbooks that support multiple languages, and digital textbooks have appeared in the last few years. In this digital textbook (multimedia daisy textbook), it has become possible to make it easier to read by adding ruby characters, reading aloud, and slashes in kanji, making learning easier. I wish that they could have supplementary lessons in the after-school hours. It will be a burden to the teacher, so I think it is better to study through the lesson videos. Also, by holding lectures at school and having them write down what they want to do and get them to know their profession first, they may find their dreams for the future and motivate them to study.

I think it is important to consult with your teacher and family about why you cannot do that, and to deepen your understanding by learning support group or studying by watching videos. When I had a exam, I couldn’t finish the exam in time and my teacher said to me that “This is so easy and you don’t understand?” and I told my teacher that I had to translate them one by one, and that teacher understood me and was it made me happy and I was so relieved. I couldn't say it because I was embarrassed but it was the good choice that I told my teacher.

I think one of the problems is that Japanese classes have a large number of people. When I was in trouble because I didn't understand it before, I was very happy that the teacher took care of me. It is difficult for students who actually need support to tell the problem, so I think it would be helpful if the teachers could take a first action.
