What is 5G？

In mid-October, the iPhone 12 models were announced and 5G support was revealed. From this announcement, the majority of mobile phones are expected to be compatible with 5G, and 5G will become even more popular.
5G stands for "5th Generation". 5G has three key features: "Ultra-high speed", "Ultra-low latency", and "Ultra-many simultaneous connections".

Ultra-high speed
5G is not only fast, but also has a large capacity and high speed telecommunication ability. The speed is about 20 times faster than 4G, so it enables us to enjoy high quality videos like 4K and 8K much more comfortable.
Ultra-low latency
Whereas previously there was a delay of up to 5 seconds, with 5G, the delay will be limited to 0.1 seconds or less. On average, this is 10 times faster than before. As the use of 5G in daily life progresses, it is expected to have a significant impact on automated driving technology and remote operations.
Ultra-many simultaneous connections
With 5G, 1,000,000 simultaneous connections per square mile will be possible, ten times the 100,000 units per square mile of 4G. This will bring the limit of simultaneous connections from about 15 billion units to about 1,500 trillion units. This will allow smoother network connections at events and in train stations, with fewer problems.
