Why Intestinal taeniasis solium Occurs
When pork contaminated with larvae (cysticerci) is eaten raw or undercooked, the larvae enter the human intestinal tract and develop into adult worms.
Why Cysticercosis cellulosae Occurs
Infection is thought to occur through oral ingestion of Pork tapeworm eggs. Once infected, the larvae are carried to different parts of the body and develop into Cysticercosis cellulosae. The main source of infection is pigs, and it is said that people can be infected even if they eat them raw or if they are not cooked enough.
Main symptoms
Intestinal taeniasis solium ：Since humans are the final host parasite, there are no major symptoms even if infected, and gastrointestinal symptoms such as abdominal bloating, nausea, constipation, and diarrhea can be mentioned. However, sometimes there are no symptoms.
Cysticercosis cellulosae：Parasitic in brain, muscle, subcutaneous tissue are common, but they also infest the eyes, heart, liver, and kidneys. Symptoms vary depending on the organ that is infected, but serious symptoms such as convulsions, disturbance of consciousness, and visual field disturbance may appear when the eyes or brain are parasitized.
Prevention method
In the case of heat treatment, the center temperature is heated to 60°C or higher. Mainly pork should be grilled well to the center before eating.
If frozen, store at -10°C for 4 days.
