In what month or season does it rain most often in your country?
Where I live in Novi Sad, Serbia, it rains for one week in the spring and two weeks in November. The one week of rain in spring is heavy, but the rain in November is not as heavy.

I have been living in Serbia for 6 years now and so far have not been harmed by the torrential rains.

It doesn't rain much outside of the periods I just mentioned, and we are even having trouble getting rain these days. However, once it starts raining, it often rains all day long for a week.
Do you take any measures to reduce damage caused by heavy rainfall?
Personally, I have not done anything special. When it rains hard, the government makes an announcement. I have a strong impression that the government does a good job of preparing for heavy rains.
