How to open his/her airway

If a collapsing person has fainted or there is no pulse, he/she can have a disturbance of consciousness or an apnea or a cardiac arrest.

Becoming this state, muscle of his/her lower jaw loses strain, the root of his/her tongue sink, and finally his/her respiratory tract is closed. So you have to open his/her respiratory tract in order to his/her airway make open.

First, check that if he/she has consciousness or not and if he/she is breathing or not rapidly.

When you check if he/she has consciousness or not, put hand on his/her forehead and tap his/her shoulder twice and said to him/her "Can you hear me?"
Do this chain three times. And make your voice louder and louder every three times.

If he/she doesn’t react after you said to him three times, think of him as losing consciousness.

When check his/her breath, bring your cheek close to his/her mouth and check if his/her breath touch your cheek or not.
Feeling, seeing and listening are important.

Do this when he/she doesn't breathe or have consciousness.

One hand put his/her forehead and the other hand put his/her chin.
And turn his/her forehead and chin upward, then you can open his/her airway.
In this time, don’t make by force, his/her head bend.

If he/she doesn’t breathe, do artificial respiration rapidly.
