Means of Emergency Bleeding Control

Direct pressure

Put clean gauzes or handkerchiefs over the wound and pressure it with your hand.
If he/she is bleeding from a big blood vessel and you can’t pressure enough even with all your hands’ strength, put your weight to your hands and go on pressuring.
Everyone can do it without any risk, so we recommend this.

Indirect pressure

In this time, pressure the point near the heart, called PRESSURE POINTS.
But it needs anatomical knowledge and it’s not for general.

Tourniquet technique

Use this when you can’t stop bleeding with direct pressure.
First, prepare tourniquets.
(Over 3 centimeters wide ones are suitable)

Tie a tourniquet loosely, and put patch cloth on it.
Apply and place a stick on the cloth and hold them with your hands.
Until bleeding stops, roll the stick mildly in order to make it settled.

(But loosen the tourniquet for two minutes at a late of once every thirty minutes in order to avoid nerve palsy and necrosis caused of stopping blood flow perfectly. Nevertheless, If the blood flow starts again, bleeding becomes heavier than before starting controlling bleeding because the blood vessel expand due to tissues’ hypoxia.)

So, to avoid these troubles, record the time when you start this definitely.

But this means takes a lot of risk unless you use it for a big wound, so you had better not to do as much as you can.
