Procedure | ||

At first we dissolve ink in water to make the bye. The color of the ink is up to you. | |

Cut the root of the plant which we want to examine. | |

Soak the plant which cut a root in colored liquid. | |

Leave it unattended for two or three hours. | |

After time passes, take out the plant from the ink and slice the stem into as much small a piece as possible. | |

With a microscope, observe the state of the stem. | |
Results | ||

We found that the part which became red is the form of a ring when we cut the stem. In addition, the stem which we cut lengthwise shows that the red part is continuous through the stem. | |

Conclusion | ||
The part which turned red is colored by the water.The part which turned red in the photograph is the trachea. In addition, the trachea continues throughout the stem. |
