What's animation?

Firstly, we will introduce the difference between “Anime” and “Animation”.
When animation was first made in Japan, it was simply called “Motional picture (Douga)”, but at 1950s, this gradually became to be called as “Animation”. Then at some point the part of this name was omitted, and it was generalized to be called just “Anime”.
After this, these works of animation (Anime) became to be imported from the world, and the original vocabulary “Anime” was established to represent only the cartoon animations made in Japan.

The origins of the word “animation” are Latten words “anima” which means spirits, or “animal”. This means to move pictures and make it look as if a spirit has been inhabited in the picture.

Here in this site, we will introduce animation.

Now everyone, Welcome to The World of Animation!
