What is chemical mimicry?

The way to mimic is not limited only to an illusion. As one of the example , chemical mimicry can be given. Chemical mimicry is the mimicry that deceives the opponent by making use of the chemical material organisms have. In the case of chemical mimicry , examples of both cryptic and aggressive mimicry can be given.

Example

Example As one of the cryptic type of Chemical mimicry , a larva of Biston robustus robustus Butler is a typical example. They avoid being attacked by Formica japonica by making the elements of wax in their body look like the branch where it is. As one of the aggressive mimicry , Nepenthaceae is one typical example it is an insectivorous flower , and specific kinds of that have a nectary the back side of an insect trap. In this way , it stores honey in a pouch and drops the insects which are attracted to the smell of honey into the pouch like a pitfall. Those insects cannot escape from the inside of the pit.
