FINE Co "Rename"
We interviewed FINE Corporation, which operates "Rename" and whose website we came across when we were researching garment loss.
What prompted your company to start sustainability initiatives?
Since the company started out in the inventory purchase business We have never been particularly conscious of this as a sustainable initiative.
How do you deal with unsold items among the products sold by your company?
Basically, we sell almost everything within three years.
Some of the items may be defective, etc., but
I have a recycle store take them back as used clothing.
Your website states that you have handled over 150 apparel brands as of November 2018, approximately how many brands do you currently handle?
I don't have all the details, as many of them are very detailed. I think the cumulative total is over 400.
With your company's sustainability initiatives, are there any initiatives that you would like us, the consumers, to take?
It's not quite an initiative.
Shopping with consideration of how it will be used, taking good care of things, and so on.
We would like to know about any new issues or problems that have emerged in the course of our sustainability efforts, or any new initiatives that you are planning to undertake in the future.
We handle a wide variety of products, so it is complicated to manage them, and we have to deal with a lot of different types of products.
Is it the development of suppliers?
We do not have any new initiatives to share with you at this time.
We are working every day to make our company known to as many people and businesses as possible.
FINE Corporation handles clothes that were originally intended to be discarded, and the fact that almost all of these clothes end up in the hands of consumers is a wonderful initiative that helps us to improve the garment loss we are working on, and to realize sustainability in the course of our business.
We would like to thank FINE Corporation for taking time out of their busy schedule to interview us.
