Insect-eating has been popular among people since ancient times. In Japan, people have been eating insects since the time of hunter-gatherers.
Aristotle, the famous ancient Greek philosopher, was also a fan of cicadas, and even mentioned them in his book.
Insects also have medicinal properties, and many people used them for medicinal purposes as well, until the Edo period.

But why did people start hating and avoiding such insects, and why did insect eating move away from people?
