We attended a public symposium to learn about biomedicine now and in the future!

Date and time: Saturday, November 7, 13:00-17:00 Participation from members' devices.

The symposium included a lecture on the current structure of the Cancer Genome Medicine Consortium and a lecture by Mr. Satoru Doi of Harmony Line, a group for familial polyposis coli patients and their families, which helped us to deepen our understanding.

1 System for cancer genome medicine

At the symposium, I learned the latest information on cancer genome medicine as a national policy, the general framework of current genome medicine, and the need for discussion on secondary findings cell mutations).
In particular, the current situation where there are many people who cannot receive treatment despite the discovery of effective drugs as a result of genome analysis, and the search for a system called "patient-centered medical care" to promptly provide treatment were very helpful in thinking about the spread of biomedicine. In particular, the current situation where there are many people who cannot receive treatment despite the discovery of effective drugs as a result of genome analysis, and the search for a system called "patient-initiated therapy" to speed up treatment were very helpful in thinking about the spread of biomedicine.

2 "Harmony Line," a story by Satoru Doi

In addition, Mr. Satoru Doi of "Harmony Line" spoke about his thoughts on illness from a patient's perspective and the importance of cooperation in the medical field. It was a valuable opportunity for me to hear the opinions of patients.

3 Questions to Mr. Doi

At the symposium, we were able to ask questions to the panelists, and we asked Mr. Doi about "designer babies for disease prevention. We asked Mr. Doi about "designer babies for disease prevention." Mr. Doi said that disease is an individuality, so we should not alter it, but accept it all. Ms. Doi's idea of appreciating the connections that we have been able to make as a result of our illnesses and seeing illnesses as individuality was something we had never thought of before, so it was a great experience for us.

At the symposium, I studied the latest information and research in biomedicine as well as new opinions on the technology.
The lecture made me think again about how society should address biomedicine.

Thank you for this invaluable experience!
It was very informative to hear from someone who is standing on the front lines of medicine. Thank you very much.
I realized that medical care is only possible when there is agreement between researchers and patients. I keenly realized that medical care cannot be achieved through research alone.
