CHAIN MAILS

As soon as the earthquakes occured, illegible informations flew.
Some of them were sent to sell phones, devices by our sides, as emails.

They're called CHAIN MAILS (the mails which are sent to a large number of the general public people and tell them to send other people) and I also received them.

Here are some example of them.

・"Because the oil company's gas tanks have exploded and gushed out contaminants, raindrop can contain them. In order not to touch them, don't go out."
・"Next earthquake will occur in ○○ prefecture (or ○○ city)."
・"People is riotting in the (disater-)stricken area."

There are many inducement of these mail.
Possibly, they are written and sent by senders' goodwill.

Conversely, they are written and sent to confuse people for making senders enjoyable.

After all, it is true that to clarify the reason of chain mails is impossible.
But it is also true they are flying in the cyber space.

Then, if it is send, what should we and you do?
To make sure of truth or falsehood and to stop stream of chain mails.
These are what we and you can do.

First, check offcial information to check truth or falsehood.
Taking "gas tanks' explotion" mail as a example.
In this case, you should check the company's webpages and make sure of whether email is true or not.

When I received mail of "gas tanks' explotion" mail, I also checked websites.

And I could know that the company hadn't provided such warning, so I found the email rumor.

In fact, even broadcast, possibility that it's information is true is not so high. So we have to check when we get some information from television too.

Second, some of you will think it troublesome to check the sites.
If you feel so, stop checking and quit thinking about email.
From the very beginning, you don't have to send it to other people, however there is passages which tells you to send it to other people.
Because, generally, the companies or the authorities don't use email services but websites, radio and television programs.

Do you know what happens when these chain mail fly?

A lot of chain mails' flying burdens some servers and makes circuits busy.
So if you want to send necessary emails, you can't.

Maybe some sender of chain mails thought that "it is kind of me to send information which other people don't know" or "I am contributing to society by sending chain mails".

But it's only his (her) self-concelf.
If they had wanted contributed, they should have refrained sending mails or calling.
They should have refrained from sending mails or calling rather than sent chain mails.

And lastly, if you receive such emails, don't catch them seriously and cope calmly and virtuously with them.
