Invention of Weather Maps

A weather map found on a newspaper is a very good example of an infographic.
The weather symbols like “sunny”, “cloudy”, “high pressure”, or “low pressure” make it easy for us to grasp weather conditions.
Colorful visualization of weather conditions on a map was started by USA Today, a newspaper company in the United States. Its weather map was much easier to understand than text information, and the map was visually appealing as well. Most newspaper companies today publish weather maps based on the one made by USA Today.
