RUINS IN OITA > Hayasuihime-jinja shrine
◆Urasima-Tarou and Ryugu-jo Castle in shrine

拝殿の屋根を見てみると・・・

Hayasuihime-jinja shrine islocated in Saganoseki, the east of Oita-shi.

This  shrine was founded by the Emperor Jinmu.

They say  GOSHINTAI(object of worship)of this Shinto  is a sword of God,

which is the Emperor Jinmu took away from monster octopus lived in the bottom of the sea.

It is said that this venerable shrine was under protection of successive loads of Kumamoto in Edo Period.

Look at the photo on the left. It’s offering hall of this shrine.

It looks quite ordinary, but please pay attension on the roof.

There is something  very famos on it .

These photos on the left show”Something”.

The upper photo  shows a man riding on a turtle, holding a box in his arm.

And the lower  shows something like castle.

Now,try to guess!

That’s right!”Urashima-Taro”!The old story of Japan.

The upper photo shows a scene that Urashima Taro’s coming back home with an Pandora’s box .

And the other shows Ryugu-Jo(Dragon’s Palace).

Nobady knows why they placed there, but both of them relate to the sea(Saganoseki and Urahsima Taro)

 That’s the reason why,perhaps.

These images are placed on the roof of main gate.

We hear image of Ryugu-Jo is slightly different from the one placed on offering hall.

Please compare both of them when you visit here.
