◆The Stone Road on the community road

On center of the road...


This is a landscape of Imaichi,an area in south of Oita City. There is a stone road on a road. But this is not the road which a tram had run,but a ordinary community road. Why is there a stone road on a community road?
Misters had passed!
Actually,in Edo period(1603-1868),Imaichi had flourished as a post station for misters go to Tokyo. This road was groomed on this occasion. In fact,misters of each areas had passed this road.

Imaichi was groomed as a post station in 1596. Nakagawa-Hidenari,who was the ruler of Oka-Han(Taketa City and around there),ordered to groom. This stone road has 2 meters wide,and 660 meters long. Post station was divided two areas,and on the way, there are two crank angles to someone couldn`t make a sweep each areas.

If you go by taxi or car,it will takes about 60 minutes from Oita-station.
