Liberty Democratic Party, which is a present ruling party of Japan is advancing to revise the constitution. It made a plan called “New constitution plan” in 2005, and in 2013, it also made “Revising plan of Constitution of Japan”, too. Why is it so active for revising?
Needs of revising the constitution were said for a long time. Since it was enforced in 1947, Japan has changed.
But there wasn’t such an era like now, when the movement of revising is so large.
Why now?
There are such opinions that present constitution has some problems in revising side.
What kind of problems are in it? Most of the problems is era.
It has never revised since 1947, but this is a novelty case in the world.
It is a minor case to try to revise total like Japan, and it is major cases to revise some parts of the articles in the world. Revising opinions say that it means that Constitution of Japan is against for the era.
Then, what point is against for the era?
First, for example, there is a problem of privacy.
“Personal information protection law” was enforced in 2003, but situation of our privacy is still danger. But it was written only as “The right which is protected by the constitution” in the constitution.
However, the limit appears by doing changing the understanding of the constitution.
It needs to revise the constitution in order to increase what the self-defense force can do. The revising opinions say so.
Like these, the voices which say that let’s revise the constitution are getting larger.
Why do they say so?
Let’s see the reason at length.
There are a lot of reasons, and we’d like to see a one.
Originally, Japanese used to have a thinking. It says that the people whose position is under must follow the people whose position is higher. So, the people followed Constitution of The Empire of Japan, the right of the people wasn’t enough, because the Emperor gave it to the people.
But how is today?
If the right isn’t enough, the people will ask for the country some steps.
It isn’t the same character to the past Japanese character.
Today, they learn about the law or the constitution though they aren’t lawyers.
Today, they argue their rights. Today, the number of the people who join to politics is increasing.
Today, the thinking such as “Follow what given from higher position” is revised. So the revising opinions is getting larger.
