We went to kindergarten!!

We interviewed about the storytelling of 0-4 years old and took a questionnaire to the teacher.
From now on, I would like to introduce the questionnaire results by bullet.

Q.What kind of Ehon do children like?

The following opinion came out.

  • Ehon which children are interested in at that age (fruits, vegetables, animals, etc.).

  • Familiar Ehon that are related to life.

  • Ehon which has repetitions and children can imitate and read.

  • Ehon with a good sense of rhythm.

  • Ehon with simple exchange of languages.

According to the teacher, 0・1 years old prefer the “Daruma san” series. As they get older, they prefer riddles, quizzes and long stories.

Q.What do teachers keep in mind when reading Ehon?

  • Loudness of voice.

  • Teachers read happily.

  • Look at children as well as Ehon.

  • Raise the Ehon to a height that is easy for children to see.

  • Speed when reading Ehon.

  • Intonate or change the reader's facial expression.

I found out that the teachers were careful about various things when reading Ehon.

Q.What kind of Ehon do the teachers usually select and read?

  • Ehon which be able to ask to children.

  • Ehon whose length and expression are suitable for age and development.

  • Ehon that are in season.

  • Ehon that children may be interested in.

  • Ehon with repetition.

  • Ehon that teacher can change the voice.

In particular, many teachers select Ehon according to age, development, and season.
I felt that the teachers thought about various things and chose Ehon to read to children!!

Q.Is it hard to read Ehon to a lot of children?

The following opinion came out.

  • It is fun if children can focus on the teacher by playing with hands before reading.

  • I'm glad when children concentrate on Ehon.

  • It is interesting because there are various reactions when reading aloud to a lot of children.

  • It's hard to make sure weather children are listening because there are a lot of children.

  • It's hard to make it so anyone can read Ehon, so I'm sorry that the child who wants to see to picture can't read it.

Some teachers feel hard and others do not.

Q.What do you keep in mind when reading Ehon to a lot of children?

The following opinion came out.

  • Make sure everyone can see the picture.

  • Read Ehon with looking at children.

  • Ask a child sitting far away.

  • Check the volume of own voice.

  • Read large Ehon when there are a lot of children.

When the teachers read Ehon to a lot of children, I realized that they read it more carefully than usual.

 

Q.What is good about Ehon as seen from the teacher side?

The following opinion came out.

  • Enrich children's creativity and imagination.

  • Children can know various stories.

  • Improve children's language and expression.

  • Children can learn the exchange of words and use it in their daily life.

  • Ehon can create a place to listen quietly.

  • Ehon can calm the mind.

  • By showing the picture,the rules are easy to teach.

  • Each child can think and feel.

The teachers seem to feel that Ehon is also effective for preschool education because it is mainly pictures.

This time, I went to kindergarten when reading Ehon, and the children were listening very happily.

Listening to the story together, I remembered that my mother read Ehon for me when I was a child. I felt the ingenuity that the teachers were doing when reading Ehon!!
