Have you ever seen a picture of a sea turtle with a straw in its nose or a whale with many plastic bags coming out of its body? These are all things that plastics have caused, which are essential to our lives. Now, plastic is putting marine life at risk. In fact, not all of the plastics we use are necesserily disposed of correctly.Plastic that has flowed out into the sea among those that have not been processed is called marine plastic, and is currently attracting attention as one of the environmental problems. For example, it was discussed at the G20 Osaka Summit held in 2019, and various companies and organizations carry out activities aimed at plastic-free. When you hear something like this, you might think the marine plastic problem has changed for the better. But is the damage to plastic marine life really shrinking? Shouldn't we who are responsible for this issue work to help marine life? We worked on this research activity with the desire to help marine life.

In addition, in the international goals of the SDGs from 2016 to 2030, marine waste is covered in "14. LIFE BELOW WATER". But it is not just that. We think that it is also related to "7.AFFORDABLE AND CLEAN ENERGY", "11. SUSTAINABLE CITIES AND COMMUNITIES" and "13. CLIMATE ACTION". The name of the site "Mypla" is a pun for the microplastics that are spread in the sea and the English word "my" with the idea that we want you to feel the marine plastic problem close to you. I hope that as many people as possible will be interested in marine plastics by looking at this site.
