Glossary

Algae
A general term for plants that grow in water or wetlands and have chlorophyll and other pigments for photosynthesis. There are many types.
Appendage
An appendage, such as a limb, protruding from the body of an animal.
Arthropod
An animal with a hard outer shell and numerous joints in the body and legs.
Asexual
The absence of distinction between male and female in living things.
Biofuel
Biofuels are alcohol fuels and other syngas that utilize the energy of living organisms (biomass).
Blood stasis
A condition in which blood flow in the veins and capillaries of organ tissues is stagnant and increased due to various factors such as blood clots.
Body segment
A unit of structure that repeats periodically from head to tail in an animal.
Carbon Neutral
The term "carbon neutral" refers to a state in which the amount of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emitted and absorbed is plus or minus zero over the life cycle.
Cell differentiation
The process by which cells that were originally single or identical become more complex or heterogeneous.
Chitin
A type of mucopolysaccharide obtained from the viscous secretions of animals.
Composting
The process of decomposing and fermenting organic matter, such as food waste and fallen leaves, by the power of microorganisms to produce organic fertilizer.
Comprehensive
The term is used to refer to a wide range of things.
Culture
The process of growing and increasing bacteria.
Current
In this case, it means the direction in which the world is moving.
Cuticle
A tough membrane produced by cells that make up the epidermis and secrete it outside.
Denitrification
The process of reducing nitrogen oxides using a catalyst and converting them into nitrogen and water to make them non-toxic.
Desulfurization
The process of removing sulfur or sulfur compounds from a substance.
Diesel fuel
An alternative to diesel fuel that can be used to run diesel engines.
Disease
To suffer from a disease.
Economies of scale
The advantage that can be gained by increasing scale. To put it simply, by increasing the scale of business management, production, sales, etc., productivity and efficiency are improved, and name recognition and awareness are also increased.
Euglena
The scientific name for the euglena.
FAO
Abbreviation for "Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. FAO is the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. Fish basket
A vessel in which fish are kept after being caught.

A facility where fish and shellfish are temporarily kept until they are ready to be sold or eaten.
Flagellum
A hair-like cell organelle capable of producing the propulsive force necessary for swimming.
Genus Eocapnia
An insect that lives on snow.
Glucose
Glucose is the most important sugar that provides energy for the various tissues of higher animals.
Hymenoptera
The number of wings an insect has.
ICAO
ICAO stands for "International Civil Aviation Organization. ICAO is the International Civil Aviation Organization. The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) is one of the specialized agencies of the United Nations Economic and Social Council whose purpose is to develop and establish principles and technologies for international civil aviation and to ensure its sound development.
Imitation
The act of imitating something that has already been done, rather than creating it oneself.
Indication
The word "hint" means to provide a clue in such a way that it can be judged indirectly, rather than pointing to it directly.
Infrastructure
An infrastructure that supports daily life. Abbreviation for "infrastructure.
Jet fuel
Fuel used in aviation jet engines.
LCC (Low-Cost Carrier)
An abbreviation for "low-cost carrier.
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
An abbreviated form of writing exchanged for the purpose of communicating intentions.
Molting
In animals, the shedding of the old outer skin as the body grows.
Mortar-shaped
A shape like a mortar (a vessel for pounding rice).
MUSCA
A company that produces organic fertilizer and feed for use in agriculture, livestock farming, and fisheries, based on research on houseflies.
Offsetting
To cancel out by subtracting.
Palm oil
Vegetable oil obtained from the fruit of the oil palm tree.
Paramylon
A starch-like polysaccharide unique to euglena algae (a member of the euglena family). A type of dietary fiber.
Parasitism
The term "parasite" refers to an organism that lives on or inside another organism and takes nourishment from it.
Pest
An insect that has harmful effects on people, livestock, agricultural products, property, etc.
Phylum of Nematoda (linear animals)
A general term for animals with a thin, linear shape.
Plasticity
A property of a solid in which, when a force is applied to deform it beyond its elastic limit, the distortion remains intact even after the force is removed.
Polymer
A compound made up of basic unit substances joined together.
Predisposition
The source of a certain result. A cause.
Promote
To help the development or growth of something by adding strength.
Ratification
The final confirmation or definitive consent of a nation to a treaty.
Red Tide
A phenomenon in which a portion of the sea surface appears red due to abnormal growth of plankton.
Refining
The act of making something pure by removing adulterants.
Reservoirs
A drainage field of contractile vesicles that regulates osmotic pressure and the removal of waste products from the body.
Residue
The residue after filtration.
Ruminant
The term "ruminant" refers to the act of putting food back into the mouth and chewing it.
Selective breeding
A breeding technique in which beautiful individuals are artificially fertilized or pollinated by each other over many generations to produce more beautiful individuals.
Shale gas
Shale gas is natural gas extracted from shale formations.
Shale oil
A type of synthetic petroleum tight oil produced from oil shale by pyrolysis and hydrogenation.
Snow Shoes
A tool used for walking on unstable ground such as mud or snow.
Solvent
A liquid used to dissolve substances in the petroleum and oil industries.
Soot and dust
Soot and other fine particles contained in dirty air.
Spindle-shaped
A cylindrical shape that is thicker in the middle and thinner at the ends.
Sugare-oi
The term is used to refer to the process of chasing bees.The act of chasing bees to find a hive.
Sun-drying
Direct exposure to the sun's rays.
Sydney Brenner
Biologist born in the Union of South Africa. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his work with nematodes.

Tumor
The term "tumor" refers to a mass of tissue formed by the overgrowth of tissues or cells against the control of the body.

The value added by production.
Wax ester
A chemical description of wax.
Yamato-ni
This is a stew that is heavily seasoned with sugar, soy sauce, and spices such as ginger.
