The origin of tea is well known amongst the Japanese envoys to the Tang Dynasty. The legend of Saichou is that Saichou planted tea seeds at the root of Enryaku-ji Temple on Mt~.
Other things that have crossed over include dice, astronomy, and medicinal herbs.
