Entomophagy is not often served on Japanese tables due to a lack of awareness and a strong image of ghetto food and resistance.
The result is a vicious cycle of low demand, higher prices, and even more inaccessibility.
Our members discussed how we could fix this problem!

How can we make everyone aware of and accept entomophagy?

Hmmm... maybe we could have an event.

The event could certainly be a catalyst for interest! But it may not lead to significant understanding...

Then how about incorporating it into school lunches?

That's a good idea! I guess if you've been eating them since you were little, you won't be so resistant to them.

I see the problem of allergies and the cost of incorporating them into school lunches.

I'm afraid I can't let a child with a crustacean allergy eat it at this stage.
I look forward to future studies by these companies!
I think the cost issue could be solved by reducing the amount you put in to a smaller amount.
In terms of allergies, even children who are not allergic to crustaceans may react if they consume too many allergens, so it is a good idea to limit the amount of allergens to a small amount.
The purpose of including them in school lunches isn't to get people to eat more entomophagy at school, it's to make them familiar!

That's right. If we can get them into the school lunch program, maybe entomophagy will become more familiar and commonplace on the dinner table! Great idea!

I hope it gets incorporated into school lunches.

So next, what can we do now?

Maybe to actually try an entomophagous diet.

I agree. We all need to try some of these products made with crickets!

I think I'm going to try making my own food with cricket powder~!

Great idea!
I'd really like to make entomophagy inexpensive and accessible, but now that the cost is inevitably high, I may have to find "value for money" and make it appealing!
For example, crickets are similar in flavor to shrimp, crab, etc., so adding them to a dish would enhance the flavor, or so I've heard!

Indeed. Well, I'll let you guys know what I think when I actually cook and eat it!

Shall we end the debate here?
In summary, I'd say it would be ideal if we could incorporate them into school lunches, and that we need to actually try entomophagy ourselves to find and promote value beyond the price!
