First of all

How do you feel when you hear the phrase "eating insects"?
Many people will probably have resistance to eating it because it is ghetto and they don't want to eat it or it is disgusting.
However, because the nutritional value of insect foods is very high and they can be easily collected in large quantities, they have been enjoyed by many people since ancient times and were used in Japan not only for food but also for medicinal purposes.
In inland areas far from the sea, such as Nagano Prefecture, locust tsukudani (food boiled in soy sauce and sugar) remains a traditional dish. Insects are eaten in many parts of the world, including Africa and other impoverished regions.
In addition, insect diets are environmentally friendly. The amount of greenhouse gases emitted when food is produced is far less, and insects have attracted attention as eco-friendly creatures.
In a world that is trying to solve issues such as the SDGs and environmental issues, entomophagy will play a major role.
Some companies are researching the possibilities of entomophagy, and recently some of their products have been sold and introduced in the mass media.
We became interested in entomophagy through the media. We hope that this site will spark your interest in entomophagy as well.
