One of the most common garbage found in daily life is cans and bottles. Cans and bottles makes 23% of all
kind of garbage collected in U.S. These garbage are all recyclable. In the Bay Area, the curbside recycling program collects these garbage. Aluminum cans and PET bottles can be sold to recycling centers in about 5 cents per bottle or can.
The curbside recycling program provides 3 types of bins to put recyclable trash. The colors of the bins vary, depending on which recycling county communities. (These colors are used in Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, Saratoga, and Campbell). Places like San Jose have different colors (all yellow) so read the labels on the bins to make sure.
