Experiment preparation

After the last experiment

Copper was less bactericidal than I expected. I talked with the members
Y.I's "Isn't the effect of copper in one experiment different depending on the amount?"
I decided to use two coppers with different amounts in the second experiment.
And the second theme is to experiment with a total of five types, including two types of copper and three types of acidic disinfectants.

Experimental tools

Granulated sugar: Prepare enough to put 5 grams each in all graduated cylinders. (35 bottles x 5 grams = 175 grams)
Put a graduated cylinder solution and flowers, and use it as a substitute for a vase to make it easier to see the reduced amount of water.。
Dilute natural water liquid, etc. and put it in a graduated cylinder.。
Komagome pipette Put the solution etc. into a measuring cylinder. This time I used a beaker instead.
Gerbera is a flower used for experiments. Use the one with the stem cut to 35 cm.
Carbonated water is a liquid used for experiments. Add 20 ml of carbonated water to 80 ml of natural water.
Junmai vinegar, a liquid used for experiments. Add 20 ml of pure rice vinegar to 80 ml of natural water.
Citric acid is a liquid used for experiments. Add 5 ml of pure rice vinegar to 100 ml of natural water.
Copper plate used for experiments. Prepare two patterns, one for 2 cm x 1 cm and one for 10 cm x 1 cm in 100 ml of natural water.

Preparation for the experiment

Stir the graduated cylinder of citric acid.
It's difficult to mix to dissolve the sugar.

In order to compare the bactericidal effect of copper, we will prepare two types, 2 cm x 1 cm and 10 cm x 1 cm, for the experiment.

Since our concept is to "extend the life of flowers easily with familiar objects," we decided to use "vinegar," which is familiar and is also used for cleaning and removing stickers.

Vinegar after weighing.
Use a funnel to put it inside.

I'm measuring carbonated water.
It was difficult to measure little by little.

The copper plate is put in the graduated cylinder of the copper plate. Last time I used to touch the copper with my hands, but this time I wash it once with baking soda and put it in with tweezers without touching it.

It is a completed graduated cylinder.
After this, they will be arranged for easy understanding.

experimental method

  • I will investigate the water level, flower length, and concentration.
  • For copper, prepare two patterns, one for 2x1 cm and one for 10x1 cm in 100 ml of natural water.
  • For carbonated water and vinegar, add 20 ml of carbonated water (vinegar) to 80 ml of water.
  • Add 5g of citric acid to 100ml of natural water.
  • Prepare 5 for experiment and 2 for observation.
  • Add 5g of granulated sugar to all graduated cylinders.

Everyone's expectations

Which fungicide will make the flowers last longer? we made a prediction.

 Y.I's forecast
 citric acid
Reason: I thought powder was better than liquid.
 K.A's forecast
 arbonated water
Reason ... I thought that carbonic acid had a bactericidal effect.
 T.U's forecast
 citric acid
Reason: It seems to be powdery and easily soluble in water.
 H.I's forecast
 citric acid
Reason: It seems to be highly effective because it is used for washing.
 M.K's forecast
 vinegar
Reason ... Because the acid seems to be the strongest in the experiment.
